A Railroad with Relevance

4 down, 1 to go

The basement reached another milestone. The last piece of drywall has now been put in place. Hurrah!

The built-in shelving area has been painted to match the walls of the workshop. Looks nice. The bathroom is painted in Behr Polar Bear White matching the center room. Once again my wife did the painting and it looks very, very nice. The train room drywall is in place and the joint compound application is set to begin. Whew, I am tired of plaster dust but it will soon be all finished. And not a moment too soon as far as I am concerned.

Here is a picture of the painted shelving area. There will be trim on front of all the exposed wood. It is difficult to take good representative pictures of the bathroom. The room is 8′ x 12′ so the camera can’t get far enough back to show what your eye’s periphreial vision can see. But nonetheless here are some pics.

  1. Flashwave says:

Are you hearing trains faintly yet? I think they’re getting closer….

  2. Why am I so excited about all this progress? It’s not even my railroad! Seriously though Alan, I’m envious of the awesome space you are preparing for your railroad. Someday I hope to have this much room and the diligence to do the quality of work you are in preparing it. I know your railroad will be great because of it. Kevin
